While Strolling Alone Through The Park At Night time: A brief Story

New Year’s Eve, December 1981, Josh on the relatively young age of 25 is intent on seeing the sights within the streets at midnight to have fun the beginning of a new 12 months and new beginnings. That afternoon he has a couple of glasses of wine in his flat, rests then goes out on foot to the streets of Hillbrow, Johannesburg.

Unexpectedly the youth begins to put his fingers into Josh’s jean pockets searching for money, finally discovering R20.00 in his again pocket. Josh is alarmed, he’s never been in a scenario like this before and says “hey give me that cash back!”
This comment infuriates his assailant; earlier than Josh can suppose to defend himself he sees two clasped fists coming at his face. Wham! – he’s been struck with a horrendous blow to his cheek. He reacts instinctively and flees in direction of the park exit with overwhelming fear and flight encompassing his whole being. Ridiculous as it could appear Josh says “no, it’s okay, I’m alright thanks.”

The place he goes to isn’t the hospital; he’s given directions by a safety guard as to its location. After a certain amount of driving about Josh lastly finds the hospital and goes to the casualty division.
It’s a slow night in the casualty department of the Jobur’g Common Hospital; there are some plastic chairs where Josh must wait to fill in kinds before he might be seen to. Nausea starts to overwhelm him, he feels as if he might collapse however holds on till it’s his flip to sit down at a cubicle to see a guide. All this time his face aches and he feels unwell; with problem he fills in the necessary paperwork.
Finally he’s executed and is seen to by nurses and a physician then given some medicine for ache.
“Have you been on a razzle ” asks the young smiling physician.
Although he’d had somewhat wine the earlier afternoon Josh hadn’t gone out drinking that evening.
“No, I haven’t” says Josh however the physician doesn’t say anything in reply.
