The unique CAPTAIN MARVEL Returns In BATMAN ’66 Prequel Comedian

Andy Fish has the correct thought.
It never made sense to me that there wasn’t a Batman/Captain Marvel crew-up within the Brave and the Daring back in the day (or Batman/Shazam!if you will need to, DC). The editors delighted in having the Darknight Detective play in opposition to characters that had been tonally in conflict.

Batman/Karate Kid Batman/Kamandi Batman/Plastic Man All occurred.
Not so for Captain Marvel — though DC needed to find a bela lugosi t shirt option to sell the World’s Mightiest Mortal to the plenty. (It can be a long time before the producers of the B&B cartoon would rectify this.)

Regardless, artist Andy Fish has the suitable idea: He’s brought Captain Marvel — and he’s not known as Shazam! — into his free, unauthorized Batman bela lugosi t shirt ’66 prequel webcomic Sinister Sideshow of Dr. Scorpio. In the newest chapter, Commissioner Gordon is rescued by Cap in the most Commissioner Gordonest of ways (“Captain Marvel! I knew I could depend on you!”):

The thought is that Captain Marvel was Gotham’s protector simply because the Caped Crusader was beginning out. As the series plays out, Andy says, we’ll see that he’s Batman’s Obi-Wan.

Later in the series…
Andy’s a fan of old serials and so I dig that he managed to make Captain Marvel seem like a combine between Tom Tyler, who played him in the 1941 adventure collection, and Fred MacMurray, who is alleged to be the model for Cap’s look.

MacMurray on the left, Tyler on the proper.
Hell, Andy might have made him appear to be Jackson Bostwick and I’d have been cool with it.

It’s just great to see Captain Marvel and Batman together, like they need to have been 40 years in the past.
